JT Turning 30
So much to tell you guys and so little time. Will be doing lots of updates this week! First off, JOSH IS THIRTY!!! Yes, Josh turned 30 years old on Saturday, the 25th. We had a party with several of his closest friends. We all dressed up as something that started with the letter “J”, and it was so much fun!
To have a party for Josh and it not be extra fun- well, that just goes against every thing he is! I could have married and total dud- I am so thankful he is so much fun to be married to. As I get older, I realize that quality is truly a treasure.
This was my 11th birthday to spend with Josh. It is amazing how my love and admiration grows for him each year. I told him this at his birthday party, but his name- Joshua, means leader. And wow, he is a leader in everything he does. And anywhere he goes, I go. It sure is easy to follow when I know who he is following.
A Good Leader is a Good Follower
What has been amazing to watch is how God has transformed him in these last few years after my cancer diagnosis as he truly became broken before God. I have seen him die to himself, put others first, be more about the whole than the individual, more about the vision than his own way, and putting God’s will before his own. As a wife, it’s been pretty amazing to have a front row seat at watching him grow and submit to Christ, in the good and bad times.
30 Will Be A Momentous Year
I truly believe that year thirty will be an amazing one for Joshua Mark Taylor. Both Jesus and John the Baptist began their public ministries at age 30. As I was researching, so many more amazing people in history that had a breakthrough or amazing things happen during year 30! Even though God has done amazing things in his life in the first 30 years, I know that we haven’t even seen a glimpse of what is to come!
It was special to pray over Josh at his party- for favor, for a continued following of God’s will, for success, for parenthood, for continued full devotion to Jesus.
God has truly joined us together as one and I am honored and privileged to be married to the best man I know- patient, kind, loving, hilarious, thoughtful, loyal, SO handsome, giving, serving, the list goes on and on. He makes me better.
Here Comes the Ridiculousness
Soooooooooo, here comes the ridiculousness. My brother-in-law, Lee is more like a brother to me than a brother-in-law. With me dating Josh since I was fifteen, I have pretty much been in the Taylor family for 12 years. So, he really does feel like a brother!
Well, Lee came to me last year and we had a conversation of how we really wanted to do something different for Josh’s 30th- something that would totally surprise him and make him feel special and loved- and make him laugh! Well, this turned into us coming up with lyrics for a rap song coupled with our legit rap skills and dance moves.
We even convinced some friends and family members to join us in making this video for Josh. At the end of the rap video, we had friends and family say kind words…for your viewing pleasure, just the rap video is posted below:

I have been following you for a couple of years. One of my high school friends (Susan Young) is a friend of your mother. She introduced me to you and your blog! She saw a spiritual connection. I am also a breast cancer survivor… and I want you to know how much you have touched my life. You and your husband are true “lights” to this world! Your spiritual maturity is beyond your years!! Thank you for using your journey for good!! I pray for you both and look forward to each new blog. May God bless you in your lives together (looks like he already has in many ways) and may he heal you completely!! I just wanted to let you know that your words are touching many that you don’t even know! That is a wonderful and powerful gift!

Thank you Audie,
Yes, I know Susan. She has been a blessing to me throughout this process because she was just ahead of me in the treatment process. It is amazing- the breast cancer sisterhood– and the immediate connection that is formed. I am so thankful you are a survivor. Thank you for continuing to follow our God- infused story! He is so so so good and chooses people like us to show his incredible power and love. Thank you for introducing yourself. God bless!!!
