So, yesterday was kind of a crazy day. Any day I am waiting on news, it is always in the back of my mind. Well, scratch that, at the forefront of my mind.
I hadn’t heard all day about the doctor’s appointment and was getting anxious. As many of you know or at least can imagine, it is hard to not worry and let your mind go to scary places.
Josh and I decided to go to Starbucks last night. We both had work to do, and it was good to get out of the house. Not only because of the chaos with boxes from moving everywhere, but to get my mind off not knowing about the appointment just yet. Well, I finally heard from our birth mom’s mother, and she told me that the appointment was rescheduled until Monday. So, I initially was disappointed, but I am so thankful regardless that she is seeing a doctor and to be getting these updates!
Her mom went on to tell me that our birth mom is growing a lot! At the ultrasound we went to 2 weeks ago, our baby was weighing right at 4 pounds, and we are praying she is growing lots, so that was good to hear.
She also explained how they are missing us and ready for us to be there. That meant the world. We miss them too, and to feel the love literally makes my heart feel like it could explode.
As I was talking with our birth grandma last night at Starbucks, one of the last things she said made me break down in the middle of Starbucks. She said, “It won’t be long, mommy.”
I literally buried my head in my hand and ugly cried in the middle of Starbucks. I didn’t care who was looking or who heard me. They would have done the same thing if they were me!
So, yes, we have no update. But really, no news is good news. Baby girl is growing and birth momma is doing great. Now we wait until Monday’s appointment.
Just wanted to update you all, as I know so many of you were praying. I am so excited, as I have another baby shower tomorrow. Now, I must get back to packing boxes:)
Much love,
Aly
