Fertility Promises

When I first learned of my cancer diagnosis, my doctor suggested preserving my fertility because undergoing my particular treatment would lower my chance of conception. We felt peace to take steps toward preservation and were heading down that road; however, just a few hours later she received a report that showed the severity of my cancer. My doctor did not feel comfortable waiting for me to preserve my fertility. She wanted me to start my cancer treatment “last week,” but of course the decision remained up to us.

We prayed and felt peace to undergo treatment immediately. This meant that our family’s future was at stake. That day and even now, we believe that God protected my womb and my fertility. As we get closer to growing our family, we are meditating on scriptures such as these. We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and if you are praying for children, we believe in these scriptures and promises. We are praying and believing with you.

Gen. 1:28 “Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.””

Gen. 3:16 “Then he said to the woman,“I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy, and in pain you will give birth. And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.”

Gen. 9:1 After the flood God again commanded Noah and his family and said, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”

Psalm 84: 11 “For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.”

Psalm 127: 3-5 “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.”

Psalm 113: 9 “He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the LORD!”

Psalm 128:1-6 “How joyful are those who fear the LORD – all who follow his ways!
You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be!
Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. That is the LORD’s blessing for those who fear him.”

Gal. 3:9 “Now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and now all the promises God gave to him belong to you.”

Deut. 28:11 “Your children and your crops will be blessed. The LORD will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops.”

Exodus 23:26 “There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”

Romans 4:17-18 “Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though he knew that he was too old to be a father at the age of one hundred and that Sarah, his wife, had never been able to have children. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”

Hebrews 11:11 “By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised”

Luke 1:13 “But the angel said to him, Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.”

Psalm 139:13 “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.”

Psalm 139:14 “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”

Psalm 139:15 “You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb”.

Psalm 22:9-10 “But You are He who took Me out of the womb. You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.”
